Evolution and Adam

Evolutionists believe that humans are descendants of apes. They have no definitive proof, except that they have found other types of Homo species such as Homo erectus, etc.

To be clear, I do believe those Homo species existed, although I do not necessarily agree with the nomenclature used, as it implies a common ancestry with apes.They lived before the creation of Adam. Adam and his progeny replaced them. That is the reason we no longer see those other species today.

Why didn’t they continue to exist? Simply because it was the divine will that they were destroyed or became extinct.

Let us ponder on this verse from Surah Al-Baqarah verse 30

﴿وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾
[ البقرة: 30]

Translation:  And when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a khalifah." They (the Angels) said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

Khalifah is a well known word in Arabic. It means successor. That is the reason why Abu Bakr r.a. was known as the Khalifah of Messenger of Allah, because he succeeded the Prophet as the leader of the Islamic Nation. And Umar was known as the Khalifah of the Khalifah of Messenger of Allah. 

This verse is very clear that Adam was a successor to previous inhabitants of the Earth. The previous inhabitants were found by research to have similar ability to kill each other and shed bloods.
